August 15 is a remarkable day for both Poland and South Korea.

In Poland, we celebrate Armed Forces Day, commemorating the 1920 Battle of Warsaw – also known as the “Miracle on the Vistula” – a historic victory that halted the spread of Bolshevism and safeguarded the independence of the country, and perhaps even Europe.

In South Korea, August 15 marks Gwangbokjeol, the National Liberation Day – one of the most important state holidays, celebrated as the anniversary of Korea regaining its independence after Japanese occupation, following Japan’s surrender in 1945.

Two nations. Two continents. One shared value: FREEDOM

On this day, Hanwha Aerospace Europe extends its warmest wishes to all soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces, civilian defense employees, and their families, while also honoring those who fought for Korea’s independence.

We believe that the partnership between Poland and the Republic of Korea – built on shared values and industrial cooperation – will continue to be a lasting foundation for security.

We are proud that solutions like our K9 Self-Propelled Howitzers and Homar-K rocket launchers, developed in close collaboration with Polish industry, are strengthening the defense capabilities of Poland and the region.
