The fourth edition of the K9 User Club began today in Kraków.

Over 150 representatives of armed forces and the defense industry from 10 countries gathered in Poland to share experience in operating, training, and maintaining the world’s most widely used 155 mm self-propelled howitzers – the K9, produced by Hanwha Aerospace.

– Participants include users from South Korea, Poland, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Australia, and Romania, along with observers from the United States and Sweden.

– The event is hosted by the Polish Armed Forces – the largest operator of K9 howitzers within NATO.

– The program will run through April 10 and includes thematic sessions, national presentations, a visit to Huta Stalowa Wola, and a live demonstration in training conditions.

“This is the largest K9 user meeting to date. As the manufacturer, we are placing even greater focus on improving the system and providing support aligned with our partners’ expectations,” said Cho Sanghwan, Vice President of Hanwha Aerospace.

Michael Coulter, President and CEO of Hanwha Global Defense, also commented:
“I’m pleased that this largest-ever K9 user community gathering is taking place in Poland – a strategic partner of Korea and a leader in military modernization. I thank the Polish Armed Forces for organizing this event. We are proud to support this initiative and to see our systems at the center of allied interest.”

Today, there are around 1,800 K9 systems in service, with the user community steadily growing.
