On Friday, April 4, we had the pleasure of hosting a Press Lunch in Warsaw with leading Polish defense journalists. The meeting served as an opportunity to deepen dialogue and promote transparency regarding Hanwha’s growing presence in Poland.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of Hanwha Ocean’s expanded offer for the Orka submarine program, recently submitted to the Polish government. This new, comprehensive proposal addresses not only the operational needs of the Polish Navy but also supports the long-term goal of building sovereign capabilities within Poland’s defense industry.
During the meeting, Hanwha Aerospace provided an update on its cooperation with the Polish Armed Forces, particularly regarding the K9 self-propelled howitzers and the Homar-K rocket artillery systems. A representative of Hanwha Aerospace Europe outlined the economic benefits of the third phase of the executive contracts— including enhanced localization, technology transfer, and job creation—further strengthening Hanwha’s long-term position in the Polish defense sector.
Attendees also learned more about Hanwha Systems, the technology arm of Hanwha Group, and its growing portfolio in areas such as C4ISR, sensor fusion, radar systems, and AI-based defense solutions.
The Press Lunch was not only an opportunity to present concrete initiatives but also a reaffirmation of Hanwha’s integrated approach to supporting Poland across land, maritime, and advanced technology domains—as a reliable and long-term partner in national security.
We thank all journalists for their insightful questions and the inspiring discussion.
