Hanwha Aerospace and Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. (HSW S.A.) signed today a contract for the delivery of chassis components for the Krab self-propelled howitzer.

This marks the tenth contract within a partnership that has been developing since 2014—a collaboration combining the expertise of the Polish and South Korean defense industries.

The value of the agreement is estimated at approximately USD 280 million. Under the terms of the contract, Hanwha Aerospace will deliver key components, including powerpacks, between 2026 and 2028 for the Krab artillery system operated by the Polish Armed Forces.

The agreement was signed by:

  • Jaeil Son, President and CEO of Hanwha Aerospace
  • Wojciech Kędziera, President of the Management Board of HSW S.A.
  • Barbara Cena, Member of the Management Board and CFO of HSW S.A.

The signing ceremony was also attended by:

  • Arkadiusz Bąk, Acting President and CEO of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A.
  • Dongyeon Kim, Head of Land Systems Business Group, Hanwha Aerospace
  • Billy Boohwan Lee, President and CEO of Hanwha Aerospace Europe

During the ceremony, Jaeil Son stated:
“About a decade ago, we began a shared journey by launching the first KRAB program. The success of the 120 units delivered demonstrated not only the synergy of our technologies but also laid the foundation for a lasting relationship between our countries.”

Hanwha Aerospace continues to fulfill its commitments under this evolving partnership with the Polish defense industry. The longstanding cooperation around the AHS Krab provides a solid foundation connecting the defense sectors of both nations and opens the door to further joint projects, including the flagship Homar-K rocket artillery system for the Polish Land Forces.
