Hanwha Aerospace, as a Strategic Partner, participated in Defence24 Days 2026, one of the most important defence and security events in Central and Eastern Europe. The conference brought together representatives of governments, armed forces, the defence industry, and experts from Poland and abroad. The event took place in Warsaw on May 6–7.
This year’s edition was officially opened by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Poland, who also served as the Honorary Patron of the event. Honorary patronage over the conference was also granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, the Ministry of State Assets, and the National Security Bureau.
During the conference, representatives of Hanwha Aerospace Europe participated in a series of discussions and working meetings focused on the future of industrial cooperation, the development of modern defence capabilities, and the challenges related to the security and resilience of the European defence industry. The company also actively contributed to the substantive part of the event by participating in debates and presentations dedicated to the future development of modern artillery systems and the technological infrastructure necessary for their effective operation.
One of the key topics discussed during Defence24 Days 2026 was the importance of ammunition and industrial capabilities as the foundation of modern artillery effectiveness. Lessons learned from the war in Ukraine clearly demonstrate that modern artillery systems require not only advanced combat platforms, but also stable, resilient, and long-term capabilities for ammunition production.
Hanwha Aerospace declared its readiness to further expand cooperation with the Polish defence industry, both state-owned and private, in the area of building additional strategic industrial capabilities related to 155 mm ammunition systems. This includes, among others, the development of manufacturing competencies, testing infrastructure, energetic material technologies, and Modular Charge Systems (MCS), which constitute one of the key components of modern artillery systems.
The company consistently emphasizes that the foundation of long-term industrial partnership is not limited to the delivery of ready-made solutions, but is primarily based on technology transfer, the development of local competencies, and the joint establishment of manufacturing, logistics, and maintenance capabilities. Such cooperation plays an important role in strengthening Poland’s security and enhancing the industrial resilience of NATO’s eastern flank.
Alongside its proposals for cooperation in the field of ammunition capability development, Hanwha also presented selected solutions supporting the advancement of modern defence systems, including the next-generation K9A2 self-propelled howitzer and the L-SAM long-range air defence system.
Participation in Defence24 Days 2026 also provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of long-standing Polish-Korean cooperation, which today continues to evolve not only through defence equipment deliveries, but increasingly through the joint development of industrial and technological capabilities.
